Discussion and Deliberation City Manager Employment Contract Discussion Jonathan Evans, City Manager, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM, 561-812-6590 This Item is intended for the City Council to consider the following options: Appoint a member(s) of the elected body to serve as a negotiator(s) on behalf of the City/Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to enter into “good faith” negotiations. Extend the contract’s existing terms and conditions if mutually acceptable to both parties. Provide notice to the City Manager that the City Council has no desire to exercise the renewal option in the contract and allow the contract to expire, thereby directing the City Manager and Human Resources to commence the recruitment process for a new City Manager and Executive Director of the CRA while proceeding with the transition of duties and responsibilities. If a contract is not approved by June 15, 2022, this option would require a month – to – month extension.
